Mark-to-Market & Section 1256

Mark-to-Market Accounting (Section 475(f))

Mark-to-Market (MTM) is an accounting method available to traders who qualify for Trader Tax Status. Under normal tax rules, you only realize gains or losses when you actually close a position.
